During the trial of hip-hop entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs, his defense lawyer had his ex-girlfriend read aloud loving text messages she had sent him over the years until she broke down in tears on the witness stand.

The defense aimed to show that the woman was a willing participant in the sexual activities directed by Combs.

The woman testified about her relationship with Combs, expressing love for him and discussing therapy she underwent to gain insight.

Prosecutors have charged Combs with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, alleging he used threats and violence to force women into sexual experiences.

The trial is expected to conclude by July Fourth.
