Posted on April 29, 2025
Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s track “Luther” has made history by spending 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Lamar’s sixth and SZA’s third chart-topping hit. The song, which pays tribute to Luther Vandross, is the first by a solo man and woman to rule for double-digit weeks. Additionally, it has maintained the top spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for 18 consecutive weeks. The recently released music video for “Luther” directed by Karena Evans features Kendrick and SZA in separate, beautifully crafted realities, closing with a cover of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “If This World Were Mine.”
